Goughies Filmic Grain Preset Pack
Have you found that using the Lightroom sliders to replicate the look of grain just never quite looks good enough! That’s because Lightroom applies grain across the image in a linear manner, and that just not how film works. Grain should be more prominent in the midtones and highlights, whilst the extreme shadows and highlights should show less grain than the rest. This can be achieved using luminosity masks and applying different setting for different luminosity.
I have made a YouTube tutorial where you can follow along and create one yourself! But if you want to save yourself the time and effort, or just want to support the channel consider downloading these instead as a one click solution.
The pack contains 5 presets that aim to replicate the look of different film ISOs:
200 ISO
400 ISO
800 ISO
1600 ISO
3200 ISO
Important Notes:
You need to be using a version of Lightroom that supports luminosity masks! this is a relatively new feature!
These presets are for Adobe Lightroom Classic & Lightroom CC (Not Capture One)
These presets are XMP files which are not supported by older versions of Lightroom
Some of these presets are “inspired” by film, they aren't going to be exact are are not a film replacement.
This preset pack is non-refundable due to it being a digital product.
